L'Orkestina

L’Orkestina was born in 1997 from the meeting of Colum Pettit, Jon Davison and Ivan Dimitrov on the streets of Barcelona. We shared our musical heritages and knowledges and taught each other the music we wanted to play: Klezmer, Bulgarian and other co-territorial styles from the Balkans. Over the years, many talented musicians joined us. During my own time (until 2003), we were regulars on the streets and music venues of our adopted city, and around Catalonia and the rest of Spain, recording three albums:: Soul of Europe; Jewish Gypsy; Transilvania Express.
